Coffee shops are many students go to study space. Whether it’s the cozy atmosphere, the aroma of brewing coffee, or the caffeine perks, coffee shops create a unique environment that can foster both focus and creativity. Coffee shops are a fun change from your usual study environment and a place for you to make the most of your time. Studying in these bustling, yet often quiet, spaces can inspire you to plan and be productive.
I know for me personally that studying in an environment where I am around others always allows me to be more productive. Whenever I study at home I feel as though there are more distractions. Coffee shops create a pleasant ambiance with background noise like soft chatter, music, and the sound of espresso machines. This month I visited five of my favorite coffee shops that double as perfect study spots, and really analyzed what it is about each location that I specifically find enjoyable.
Paréa Coffee is a new found study spot of mine. It started off as a coffee truck, and opened its building location in August of 2024.
With an expansive menu ranging from coffee to teas to smoothies, Paréa has lots to offer.
Paréa serves as an ideal study spot with its low lighting, quiet atmosphere, and comfortable seating. With good wifi easily accessible, Paréa is a great place to focus and get work done.
Sona Coffee South is a quiet, comfortable study space. Located off of 106th and Memorial, this coffee shop is one I frequently visit. The workers are very friendly and help create a positive environment.
While on the smaller side, Sona is a great place to socialize while also getting work done. With good lighting, an outdoor patio space, and lots of seating options, there is a space for everyone at Sona.
It’s very likely the most well known coffee shop is Starbucks. Starbucks is a chain of coffee houses and you can find one pretty much anywhere you go.
They have an expansive drink menu, including coffees, refreshers, matchas, lattes, and others. In addition to the large drink menu, they also have a wide variety of food options whether it’s breakfast egg bites, a grilled cheese for lunch, or a cake pop for a sweet treat, the Starbucks menu has an easy option for just about anyone.
Overall, coffee shops offer the perfect place to study and get work done, while simultaneously connecting with your community. The buzz of the espresso machines and the scent of freshly brewed coffee combined with the change of scenery make it easier to concentrate and spark new ideas. For those seeking a blend of productivity and inspiration, these study spots can offer more than just caffeine.
